David needed to go to the bank yesterday. When he arrived there were about 75 people in line. One guard pointed and motioned him to the end of the line. All at once he felt someone grab his arm and another guard pulled him on into the bank. As he entered the main area a teller motioned him into the private teller area He cashed his check and as he was leaving one of the tellers asked him if he had any more tents. (back in Feb when David, Jr. Betsy and I flew into Haiti we took in 3 tents as a part of our luggage. We had shared these tents with some of the bank staff. Most all of the staff had lost their homes. About 20 of them needed tents.) One of the men told David he had a pregnant wife and an 18 month old and they were sleeping on the ground with just sheets for cover. David told the guy that more tents had arrived on our container and if someone would follow him back out to our property (about 10 miles north) he would be happy to share some more relief items with them. They followed David back to the compound and he was able to share tents for the rest of the bank staff, cases of bottled water, many many packages of noodles and clothes. They were so appreciative. What a blessing to be able to share.
Mom broke her record for walking today.....54ft. Their goal for her was 50 ft. Yeah! Mom! Of course this is with two people helping her. She told them today that she was glad she had the best two therapy people in the hospital.
