March 24, 2013

Holy Spirit filled two weeks.  We had 7 nights at Canaan III.  Sunday morning Brian preached at TiTanyen in the morning and night services.  David preached at Light and Peace church in Bon Repos. On Monday night we were blessed to be able to take the Passion of Christ movie to a small village near the Dominican border. A few years ago Pastor Lamartine found this village that was called  Valley of Satan.  The people were literally  living in caves and rock/mud houses. He approached an organization in PAP and they built the people 60 concrete block homes.  He also established a church there and then he renamed the village Valley of God. People were excited to have the film and over 20 responded to the Gospel. Pray that a school can be established there.  Right now the children, whose parents have the money for public transportation,  have to go at least 5 miles into the closest town for school.
After seven nights in Canaan III we moved the crusade to Canaan I for two nights and then one night  to Village of Grace.  A total of 379 decisions for Christ were recorded. The Lord truly moved in the hearts of people during these days.
We had the blessing of seeing the full body of Christ at work as 30 plus people..faithful to come every night from the  TiTanyen church arriving an hour and a half before services started. They were there witnessing and praying before the services, leading the worship and counseling during the invitations. WOW!  what faithful and committed followers of Christ.
On the last night about a 100 ft from where we were set up we saw a lady standing by her little "store" standing and worshiping the Lord as the music played.  I just couldn't miss the opportunity to tell her how she blessed me as I watched her worship Him.  She said  "how can I not worship Him after all He has done for me?  On January 12, 2010 the earthquake struck and I was buried beneath the concrete of my home.  The Lord rescued me as I heard the cries of many that were buried in the rubble and they didn't survive."  She shared all this as stood in front of a very well worn tent that was now her home and store.

Great week so far.  Brian and Carla Tyndall arrived in Haiti on Friday.  Sunday Brian preached at TiTanyen church and one person was saved.  We started a crusade Sunday night in an area called Canaan.  This is part of the tent cities that have sprung up since the earthquake. Sunday night there were 48 decisions for Christ. PTL!.  We have been blessed to walk and pass out scripture pamphlets in the community inviting people to come to the crusade.  David and I walked up and around the mountains for about 2 miles and the people were so receptive to our coming into their yards, etc.  Brian and Carla actually walked further and longer than we did.  (could that have anything to do with age???)
TiTanyen church is helping with the sound, counselors and musicians each night.  Every night we have 2 women....in their 70's.. that walk around the entire area where people will be standing and sitting for the crusade and pray for at least an hour and a half.   When the message starts they are on their knees praying the entire time the message is being preached.  True prayer warriors.
We are blessed that our entire staff is committed to helping make all this possible.  We are furnishing 4 trucks to get all the sound equipment, lights and people there to the area. After working all day this is quite a commitment for them to make this all happen. Please pray for those that are participating in bringing the Gospel to this tent city and for the hearts of those who hear the messages to be open and receptive to the WORD.

March 6, 2013 Feeding the Elderly

March 6, 2013

The well drilling crews have been in full swing.  We had three men come for two weeks...working with Clear Blue. They drilled in 3 wells with Nicky Runk finishing the last one.  Our GO crew drilled in 3 more wells during the same period.  With the 6 new wells our pump base crew was kept busy pouring bases and then installing new pumps. What a joy to see the faces of those who didn't have any water and now there is clean fresh water in their community.
WEAG from Richmond, VA sent in a team of 8.  They came to do construction....both men and women.  It was great for our guys to see just how hard this team could work. They worked side by side with our Haitian crew building the perimeter wall around the compound.  HOT HARD HEAVY work but no complaining with this crew. (ages 15-69)   WEAG also sent in funds for drilling a well. The team had the joy of helping install the new pump and pumping the first water to the community after our staff shared about the Living Water of Jesus.
