It has been a busy time on the GO compound this weekend. The US military is leaving and they gave us 200 pallets of bottled water. Do you realize how much bottled water that is?????
200 pallets at 72 cases for each pallet. Each case has 24 bottles. This is 1,728 9 oz bottles of water per pallet. There are 345,600 bottles of water on the 200 pallets. This is 194,000 lbs or 97.2 tons of water which equals 24,300 gallons of water. That's a LOT of WATER!!!!!!!!!!!
Trucks have been delivering for over 24 hours.
Samaritan's Purse had a barge come in that they are unloading as well as FriendShips has their boat at the dock to unload. It is a never ending parade of trucks night and day as they deliver items to the compound for distribution. As our staff says "our compound will never be the same." Praise the Lord we are providing a place to help these organizations facilitate meeting the needs of the Haitian people.
